A European biotech company had performed preclinical evaluation of a therapeutic hepatitis C vaccine and required a licensee to take the product through clinical trials.

The objectives for the client

The client wanted:

  • a list of companies, working in vaccines and hepatitis C, prioritised to fit with the client's strategy

  • assistance with preparation of presentation material

  • support with initial company contacts.

The programme of work

Bridgehead Consulting:

  • developed a comprehensive list of companies working in the area of vaccines and/or hepatitis C which was prioritised according to the strategic fit with the client's approach

  • produced a package of information including a non-confidential dossier and contact letter, and a confidential disclosure with input from the client

  • made initial company contact followed up by the client

  • carried the work out in close collaboration with the client to ensure that the goals were being met.

 

The deliverables to the client

  • A list of potential licensees with contact details, including companies and contact personnel known to Bridgehead Consulting.

  • A non-confidential document and contact letter to be used to introduce the client company and the product.

  • A confidential dossier to be used to follow up leads.

 

The project achievements

  • Bridgehead Consulting carried out the initial company contacts for the client.

  • Several companies were interested in pursuing this opportunity further including a top five pharmaceutical company, one of the world's leading biotechnology groups and one of the world's top five vaccine companies.
