Bridgehead Consulting worked with a UK venture capital investor looking to raise funds for an early stage company involved in the development of medical software.

The objectives for the client

The investor was undertaking a programme of due diligence, and wanted assistance in canvassing the opinions of medical specialists within the UK, US and Europe.

The programme of work

  • Bridgehead Consulting developed a series of questionnaires to establish current and future practices within hospitals and clinics, and to test potential features of a medical software application.

  • The survey was sent out to approximately 500 potential users within hospitals and the results analysed.

  • Additional telephone interviews were performed to gain more in depth opinions.

 

The deliverables to the client

  • The reasons behind current practices were scored and prioritised, which enabled features for the software to be defined.

  • The importance of different features of the software was evaluated and scored, using a variety of parameters.

  • Estimates in terms of timing of future implementation and number of users were derived.

 

The project achievements

  • High levels of interest generated in the program from the interviews and questionnaires enabled the client company to initiate discussions with potential customers.

  • Key features for the software were established and ideas for future developments were generated.

The company was successful in completing the funding transaction.
